best-2-slice-toaster

If you’re looking for a convenient 2 slice toaster to fit snugly into your kitchen, well then you’re in the right place. I’ve scoured the market of toasters and have compiled a list featuring the best 2 slice toaster, and it’s competitors.

Many people look to get themselves a 4 slice toaster, though this certainly isn’t a necessity in any kitchen. If you’re not toasting for an entire family at once, then investing in a 2 slice toaster can be a great option for those looking to save space in their kitchen and save energy through the power that their toaster expends. Fact is, many families prefer a 2 slice toaster just for the sake of convenience. If you want a toaster for a large family though, you’re best off looking at a 4 slice toaster.

So, before I have a look at each toaster individually, lets check out the comparison chart to see some of the differences between each toaster. You’ll want to note is the wattage and dimensions of your toaster, making sure it’ll fit perfectly in your kitchen.

The TR9198S is one of the most popular toasters on sale right now, and there’s a pretty good reason for that. Whilst it won’t blow you away with super fast toasting times, it toasts in a pretty reasonable time that will suit most people.

The design is extremely simple, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Many people don’t want their toaster to be the star of the show in their kitchen, and we can’t say that we blame them. Sometimes, all you need your toaster to do is.. toast. It doesn’t have to look fancy, though this is all down to personal preference. This silver steel-looking toaster will fit in with most colour schemes in your kitchen.

It has a crumb tray too, which makes it ideal for those looking for something that is really easy to clean. You can wipe this toaster down within seconds, which is fantastic if you’re looking to save some time. And lets face it; who wants to spend their time cleaning a toaster, right?

Pros

1) The removable crumb tray makes for an easy clean up, which is essential if you’re lazy (like me!).

2) It has extra wide slots that that make it ideal if you like a bagel in the morning.

3) Speaking of bagels, it has a special ‘bagel’ setting to make sure thicker bread gets toasted properly.

Cons

1) It seems to work better on one side than the other, which is a common problem with these toasters. It’s super annoying.

2) The cord for this toaster is in the front, which is really weird. If you want to get  the cord to the back, it shortens the cord by a third which then makes it around 16 inches. This is pretty short, so keep this in mind if

Going with Russell Hobbs is a safe bet if you want reliability and a solid warranty.

Bella Linea Toaster

The Bella Linea toaster is a prime example of a toaster that is extremely basic. And, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. If you don’t think that you’ll need a toaster that has lots of added features, then perhaps getting a basic toaster would be a good option for you. A basic toaster is a good toaster, especially if you’re looking to get one the whole family can use.

Whilst it is basic, it still has most of the features that you would need from a toaster. It has the high lift toast racks, so you won’t need to worry about burning your fingers on the metal parts of the toaster. Probably one of the better things about this toaster is the fact that the slots are extremely wide, which makes it suitable for large families that need to get as much toast done at once! You can also use this toaster for baps, hot cross buns and other breads that you’ll need a wide toaster for.

Whilst there might be better looking toasters available, if you’re looking for one you can get at a cheap price, then this could be it.

Pros

1) The extra wide slots make it a good option if you like more than just toast.

2) With 6 shade settings, you can be sure that you’ll find one that suits your needs.

3) The lever lifts high enough that if you have smaller slices of bread, you can be sure that you can grab them out without burning your hands.

Cons

1) It’s fairly low quality, but the price does reflect this to be fair. You can’t expect the highest quality at this kind of price.

2) Due to the quality, it won’t last as long as some other toasters that are available.

I like the Bella Linea as a cheap option for a compact, attractive 2 slice toaster.

T-fal Avante

So, I thought this would be a great addition to the list as it’s a good example that you can get more than just the regular features with a toaster.

The toasting slots are made specifically to be ultra wide. This is a necessity with this toaster, as who just wants to have eggs on toast every day? This gives you the opportunity to create different things, like muffins and bagels. Better than just plain old scrambled on toast, eh?

All of the features included in with this toaster, and it’s still extremely easy to use. With an adjustable temperature control on the side of the toaster, it’s simple to get your toast to variable degrees of brown. The buttons make this toaster extremely east to work, and once you get used to the egg cooker, that too is pretty simple. If you’re looking for a quick way to get eggs on toast every morning, this would be a great option.

Pros

1) The anti-jam function is good if you want to avoid getting bread stuck in the toaster.

2) It has a crumb door, which is a good alternative to a crumb tray and makes for easy cleaning.

3) T-fal always give you a solid warranty with their products, which might be essential to you.

Cons

1) It isn’t cheap, and at this price I’d expect it to be a bit better quality to be honest.

2) Whilst the slots are plenty wide and deep enough, I’d rather them be a little longer.

It’s not my favorite T-fal product, but it gets the job done.

Whilst many of the basic toasters that you’ll find are only 700 or 800 watts, it’s unusual to find a toaster this simple to use that is 1200 watts. A toaster with a wattage as high as this one is usually found in more complex toasters with a variety of different features.

This toaster would be a perfect gift for someone looking for an extremely easy to use and basic toaster. As it’s features are extremely simple and straight forward, an elderly person or someone hard of sight would certainly find this easier to use than some other toasters that are available. The more complex the toaster is, usually the more difficult that it becomes to use. sometimes it just makes sense to stick with an easy, simple to use toaster like this one.

Russell Hobbs are one of, if not the, biggest kitchenware brands currently. Due to this, you can expect a pretty great warranty that will back your product in case of any issues that you might come across. Having a good warranty for your product will give you a peace of mind, assuring that you don’t need to worry about it breaking.

Pros

1) Really easy to clean.

2) The variable browning control gives you lots of different options to choose from to decide how you like your toast.

3) Have you seen the design? It’s probably the most attractive toaster in the list, in my opinion.

Cons

1) Although it looks great, it might not have the longevity in the aesthetics department. It might wear away a bit quicker than you would like.

2) If you hate fingerprints, you’ll hate this toaster. It seems like you’ll never get them off!

If you want an extremely attractive toaster, this is your best bet.

Breville Bit More

If you’re looking for a toaster that is specifically designed to fit thick bread, then this toaster from Breville would be your best option. They’ve designed this toaster to be the optimal toasting machine, leaving your toast perfect. As we know, their bread can be significantly larger than some of the other slices of bread that you’ll find on the market, so if you’re an avid thick bread buyer, it does make sense to invest in a toaster design specifically for their bread.

The buttons make it extremely easy to work, so if you’ve got a family with younger children and you want them to start making themselves toast in the morning, then this would be a really great option. Due to these buttons, it’s one of the simplest 2 slice toasters to use, though it does still have many useful functions.

It has the high lifting option, which is so useful to stop yourself from burning the tips of your fingers on the metal parts of the toaster. With the ‘look and lift’ option, you can actually raise your toast slightly out of the toaster and check how it’s doing, all without actually stopping the toasting process. All of this, finished with a cool stainless steel exterior makes for one of the best 2 slice toasters available.

Pros

1) The Bit More function enables you to leave your toast in a little longer to ensure it’s toasted well.

2) It has a Lift ‘n Look lever, which is good if you want to check on your toast before taking it out.

3) It’s reliable. As with most Breville products, it should last you a good while.

Cons

1) It doesn’t sound very loud when the toast pops up, so you’ll have to pay attention to make sure that you’re listening.

2) It does toast unevenly; how hard is it to get a toaster that toasts on both sides?!

The design isn’t my favorite, but there’s no denying that this is a solid option as a toaster.

Bosch TAT

Bosch are one of the more known names in the kitchen electronics world, and it seems like they’ve been around forever. Competing with many Japanese and American brands hasn’t been easy for Bosch as they’re headquartered in Germany, though they’ve managed to become one of the most well respected brands in the industry. This is due to their valid warranties and high quality production, which is second to none.

So, what of the Bosch TAT? Well, it’s a basic design, which is pretty much the only thing that we don’t love about this toaster. We’d like to see a more innovative design, something that makes it visually stand out from all the other toasters available. The things we do like about this toaster, however, are almost endless. It’s design might be boring, but it’s certainly sturdy, and this toaster will likely last you for a long time.

It has all the necessary features that a toaster would need, including a pop up wire rack to make things that little bit easier. As well as the ‘regular’ features, it also has some non stick feet that makes it extremely sturdy and stable on your worktop. The variable browning levels work excellently, and the ultra wide toast slots make it ideal for those who use larger slices of bread.

Pros

1) It’s a cheap price, which is good if you’re on a tight budget.

2) The unique toast rack will come in handy if you want to keep your toast warm.

3) 6 settings make it great if you like to have your toast a specific way.

Cons

1) I personally think that the design is kind of tacky and outdated, but that’s just my opinion.

2) For the quality that it is, I do think it’s a little bit overpriced.

The Bosch TAT isn’t one of the best 2 slice toasters on the market, in my opinion. But, it is cheap, which will be perfect for some people.

Morphy Richards AT

Check Price

The Morphy Richards AT is certainly a unique design which will separate it from other toasters that are available. The coating is plastic, which may give you the impression that it looks kind of cheap and tacky. Though, this really couldn’t be further from the truth. It is actually one of the better looking toasters that we have on our list, which is of course, a positive thing.

It has pretty much all the features that you would need from a toaster, with removable crumb trays for easy cleaning, and a toast from frozen setting if you’re the type of person that stocks up on your bread (hey, we are too!).

The only real negatives that we can see about this toaster is that dimensionally, it is quite shallow. If you’re someone who’s looking to use thick, long bread then maybe you should look at purchasing a different toaster that has deeper toasting slots. We do really like this toaster however, so if you’re buying regular sized bread, then this is definitely one that you should consider.

Pros

1) The dust cover is handy if you don’t use your toaster too often.

2) It’s extremely basic and simple to use, which might be exactly what you’re looking for.

Cons

1) It’s a low quality toaster, so don’t expect to get anything amazing at this price.

2) it’s quite low wattage, so it might take longer to get your toast than what you’d expect.

Though it isn’t the best quality, I do think that the Morphy Richards is a good option if you’re on a budget.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I genuinely think that any of these 2 slice toasters would fit well in your kitchen. In all honesty, there isn’t a great deal of difference between them.

I can tell you from using a toaster every day for the past 10 years and going through at least a dozen toasters, they do not vary too much in quality and build. For this reason, I advise you go for a toaster that you find aesthetically appealing. Of course, this is subjective, so it’s down to you to decide what toaster you find the most visually attractive.

Overall, don’t stress too much about whether you’re going to find the perfect 2 slice toaster. There are plenty more toasters.. in the sea?
