Cuisinart 3-in-1 Cook Central
Model Number: MSC-400
Best Features: Steaming rack, Backlit LCD Display, Easy to understand.
Capacity: 4, 6 or 7 QuartCheck Amazon Price
Cuisinart are another American brand that have been around for a while. They started back in 1971, which coincidentally was the same year the CrockPot came on the market. What a great year for slow cookers!
Anyway, the crockpot itself has 3 different settings (High, Low, and Simmer). It’s a simple to use programmable crock pot that has a lot of added features that you simply have to take advantage of.
It has two added features that differentiate it from the rest. Firstly, it comes with a handy large steaming rack that can be used for when you need to steam that broccoli last minute (it makes a pretty darn good job of it as well!). It also has a saute feature, which is great for reheating leftovers or to brown off those onions.
Another great benefit of the Cuisinart is that it comes in 3 different sizes. We advise to go for the 4 quart if you’re cooking for one, 6 quart for 2-3 and go for the 7 quart if you’re a family of 4 or more. The 7 quart is no different than the 6 quart, it’s just a bit deeper and you will be able to fit a bit more in.
The Cook Central is a fantastic buy for those looking for an all rounder. You could get rid of virtually everything in your kitchen and still make delicious meals with this fabulous crockpot.

Aside from the color scheme, the Bella has some pretty simple features. This makes it one of the easier crockpots to use on our list, especially if you aren’t after anything too difficult and want something easy to use.
Though Bella doesn’t have the same household name familiarity as some of the other names we’ve mentioned, you could sure do a lot worse than this Bella Dots.

The Little Dipper is a great option for those who often have company, as the added Little Dipper is great to serve hot sauces and other condiments. You could also use it for a small selection of vegetables.
This Crockpot does not bring anything new and innovative to the table, but is certainly a solid option if you want a programmable crock pot that has a digital timer, is completely dishwasher safe and has that reliable Crockpot name.

The Gourmia SlowSmart is another great option if you’re looking for your regular programmable crockpot with a few added features. This one comes with an abundance of program modes and specially made cool touch handles, for those dubious of burning their fingers.
The SlowSmart is the only feature on our list that is 8 quart in capacity, which is plenty enough for your family and your neighbours family, if necessary! If you’re wondering, the 8 quart crockpot is about 2 to 2 and a half inches deeper than your regular 6 quart crock pot.
The only thing that you could criticize this crockpot for is the price. But hey, there aren’t many other crockpots of this size available on the market and you won’t regret spending your money on this reliable beast.

What this crockpot has that the others in our list doesn’t is the EasySear insert, which makes it pretty unique. It has an insert that you slide in that makes cooking much easier. You can use this one to cook that beef joint AND sear the asparagus. That’s one less pan to wash!
It also has a removable cord, which is great for tidying away or if you’re often on the go and want to bring your slow cooker with you. The only negatives from this one is that the steel it’s made with can feel a bit cheaper than some of the other, more quality crockpots.

What you should consider
If you’re really looking for the best programmable crock pot or slow cooker, then there are several things that you should take into consideration beforehand. Whilst you could just go and buy the first crock pot you see, it will pay off in the long run.
Brand – Whilst you can pick up a cheap slow cooker at your local store, it is usually worth investing in a name brand one if you’re looking for something that will last more than a few months. Of course, the biggest name in the slow cooker industry is Crock Pot, and with pretty good reason; they’re the original creators of the slow cooker. Other top brands are Hamilton Beach and Cuisinart, who are known for making the some of the best programmable crock pot/slow cookers. Any of the other brands we’ve mentioned in our list are relative newcomers, but don’t count them out. They often come with great warranties to help make up for their short history.
Features – Of course, you need to have a look through the different slow cookers and see which features that you need the most. It is unlikely that you will find all the features that you need in one slow cooker, but it is possible. In our list, you’ll find everything from thermometer probes to triple fusion heat technology, so it’s worth having a look and seeing what you think will come in handy.
Capacity – Possibly the most important thing is the capacity that you need, which will be different for everybody. They say that the best programmable crock pot size is around 6 to 7 quarts, but of course go higher if you’re feeding a big family!
Color – We tried to include a variation of different colors in our list of the best programmable crock pot/slow cookers, so that you can decide what will suit the color scheme in your kitchen best. Personally, we prefer to go for something a bit more vibrant than just plain silver, but that’s just us!
Our verdict – Cuisinart 3-in-1 Cook Central
Whilst we would be happy with any one of the crock pots and slow cookers we’ve featured, we feel like the Cuisinart 3-in-1 has pretty much everything you could need. It’s available in 4, 6 or 7 quart, which is extremely handy for anyone looking for a smaller slow cooker as they aren’t that easy to find.
The main thing that sets this slow cooker apart from the others is that you could genuinely use this as your only cooking method. It has a really handy steam feature, which is perfect for cooking your vegetables. Along with the steam feature, it also has a sauté feature. Whilst you might not expect this to be the greatest, it is actually extremely useful and will sauté your food on par with what you could do with a pan.
We appreciate it isn’t the most stylish slow cooker around, but in our eyes, it is certainly one of the most useful. If you’re looking for an all-rounder that isn’t going to break within a few months, stick with the one from Cuisinart.
